Products Pulp Disintegrator

For use with Leaf Casters

Designed for the disintegration of cellulose pulp in accordance with the international standard V/4/61 of the Union of Cellulose and Paper Chemical Engineers.
The Disintegrator has a solid frame of CO 2 electro-welded steel plate. On the base there is a three bolt fixing device for levelling the container and a foam rubber protecting ring on which the container is placed.
On top of the base support stand is the drive, a single phase, 220 volt, 3000 rpm electric motor, which (seen from above) runs clockwise; a bearing; coupling; container housing and on/off lever switch. The motor is coupled directly to the stainless steel propeller shaft. The calibrated, three vaned, stainless steel, propeller is fixed to the lower end of the shaft and is secured by tightening a stainless steel washer and nut.
The 152mm wide stainless steel container can be connected with bayonet fittings to the upper housing. By tightening the container against the housing plate an O ring ensures a water tight fit during the disintegration process. The inside wall of the container is fitted with four spiral pulp channels, which reach over half the containers circumference. In accordance with the standard V/4/61 the container has a maximum capacity of 2000ml and 24 grams absolutely dry pulp.

Description

The rack panel carries the main components:

Container (A)
Drive (F)
Propeller (B)

The container is made of stainless steel and can be connected with bayonet fittings (C) to the upper part (D). A water tight fit O ring (E) tightens the container against the upper plate. The side wall of the 152mm wide container (diameter + 152mm) and the bottom plate are converted into one another by a radius of 12mm.
Inside the container on the side wall, there are four, spiral pulp channels 6.5mm square, in cross section. Each channel reaches over half of the containers circumference, and the angle of the spiral is such that the blades lower end is 32mm above the bottom of the container and the top end 135mm above the bottom of the container. The shaft (G) is driven by a 3000 rpm, 220 volt, single phase motor (F) running clockwise, seen from above. If it is necessary to change the rotating direction, then reverse polarity of the motor. The shaft bearing is protected against water penetration by a retaining ring on the shaft.

NORMAL MACHINE PROCEDURE

According to standard V/4/61, 24 grams of absolutely dry pulp are prepared for the grinding process by adding tap water up to a pulp-water volume of 2000ml. Then the pulp swells. After this the swelled suspension of pulp and water must be reduced to 2000ml, and then poured into the container which is then fixed to the upper plate by bayonet studs. When the swelling time is over, the propeller starts turning. The grinding process lasts 25 minutes. When the grinding process is finished, the container is opened and the propeller must then be cleaned.
