Cotton Linters .

Cotton Linters

Cotton Linters are the basis of most modern cotton papers. This fibre is taken directly from the cotton plant and not from old cotton rags. They are usually made from the second cut short fibres left after the longer fibres have been taken for the textile industry. The fibres are processed into rough sheets ready to be dissolved in water and beaten to the required degree for the type of paper required. Beaters vary according to the scale of production and can range from industrial hydro pulpers to home kitchen blenders. Conservation By Design are able to offer a small laboratory blender.
