CXD AG/Kasemake Box Making Machine In 1999 Conservation By Design Limited introduced the KASEMAKE CxD to the library archive and museum market. In doing so we introduced a new freedom and level of production quality to many of the worlds leading institututions. Custom made boxes could be made at prices suddenly affordable. The CXD AG / Kasemake is an integrated computer based design and box making machine which has been adapted for use with our range of archival folding boxboard and archival papers. Its sturdy construction allows it to cut, crease, and make holes in heavy weight solid laminated archival board as well as lightweight corrugated material. We believe that solid laminate board should be the first choice for archive boxes because it offers a level of protection against fire or flood that corrugated board cannot match. The CXD Kasemake requires only personal computers running Windows or Windows 95/98 and makes it an inexpensive design and construction solution for libraries and archives with extensive pHase boxing requirements. |

The CXD AG / Kasemake KM System can produce complex individual sized boxes in minutes using a parametric design programme that allows any variation of size from a standard design. The software gives the operator complete control to adapt existing designs in its extensive library, or create new designs to suit specific non standard requirement. Once created, designs are stored on disc and held in the systems database. The CXD AG / Kasemake Software drives all other Windows supported devices from A4 laser printers to large format colour printers. The software will accept both scanned and digitised input, making the capture of complex shapes extremely easy. All CXD AG / Kasemake designs can be exported to artworking systems on both IBM and Apple computers. We can also supply compatible artworking software to run on the same P.C. |

Mount Cutting Mount design is simple. Use a standard, set the style and number of windows, their size and spacing. Or, create a unique design on screen. Then send it to the table. The mount cutting knife will produce a perfect mount in seconds. Produce a one-off picture mount, batch process a quantity or nest several designs on a single sheet of board for economy. |

Display Units Kasemake software is delivered with libraries of designs in addition to those intended specifically for conservators. Amongst these libraries are collections of free standing, cardboard displays. These range in size from large floor standing POP displays to counter top leaflet dispensers. Taken straight from the retail world these designs can be utilised for exhibition or education needs, to better display and advertise the facilities of the museum or library. Simply select the characteristics you require and the parametric capabilities of the system will create the correct number of parts at the required sizes. Cut and crease on the table and assemble. The system can cut pre printed board to register or you can spray mount artwork onto board and again cut to register. Leaflet dispensers and desk top displays are also included. When artwork, produced on an ink jet printer, is laminated to board and cut to register high quality displays can be created. KASEMAKE CXD can be used to prepare web ready images in addition to physical displays. The adjacent images of Tutankhamun are virtual images, using the actual design elements of the display within artwork applied and then folded and assembled on screen.

Plastic Folders For use when displaying items, or as a protective covering, Polypropylene or Polyester and its derivitives are becoming more popular. Heavier grades of material are more difficult to crease than fibre based boards. The KASEMAKE table has tooling that can crease sheet plastics with ease. Included are designs of folders, wallets and displays created specifically for plastics. |
