Archival Metal Edged & Corrugated Boxes In addition to our Premier and Original grade Die Cut and Brass Stitched Boxes and Envelopes, we are also able to offer Conservation Resources American Style Metal Edge and Die Cut Corrugated Boxes. These are made from a variety of boards depending on the type of requirement. There are many styles of box available and in addition we are able to quote for special sizes if requested.

Board Specifications

The following boxes are made using a variety of archival board types for which the specifications are as follows.

• Callipers: 650, 1000, 1300, 2000 microns
• Grey & White paper; Duke Parchment and White
• Furnish 100% Woodfree, Elemental Chlorine Free
• Free of optical brightening agents
• Calcium Carbonate Reserve: 3%
• pH cold extract: 7.5 - 8.5
• Neutral sizing agent
• Lightfast: Blue wool test 5 - 6
• Board laminated with our specially produced plasticiser free EVA adhesive, pH  7
• Chlorides as NaCl: 0.3%
• Sulphates as Na₂So₄: 0.1%
• Reducible sulphur: less than 0.5 parts per million
• Both the Grey and White paper used for laminating the board conforms to the Heavy Metals requirements of the European Toy Regulations; Ref: EN 71, Part 3 (BS5665)

AMERICAN STANDARD QUALITY GREY/WHITE BOXBOARD (Similar to CXD Original Grade)
This pH 8.5 board has a buffered brown Kraft centre sandwiched between higher grade fully purified buffered paper liners, Grey on the outside, White on the inside.

MicroChamber®
Active archival storage papers and boards incorporate proprietary formulations of specified activated carbons and alkaline buffers. This effectively means that MicroChamber® material traps any gaseous pollution entering the box or that may be given off by the object stored in the box as is often the case with photographic material.
