1. Hand cut, creased and wire stitched.
2. Die cut and stitched or metal edge.
3. Die cut, flat packed, self assembly.
4. Computer generated 'SMART BOX' machine cut for self assembly or wire stitched.

CXD WIRE STITCHED & DIE CUT BOXES DESIGNED AND MADE TO SPECIAL ORDER

CXD Wire Stitched and Die Cut Boxes are available in various grades of board including CXD Premier Grade Grey/White Boxboard which is suitable for all applications including photographic storage. Premier boxes have been specified and are distributed exclusively by Conservation By Design.

Our Wire Stitched Boxes are made using non rusting brass wire. Boxes constructed in this manner are particularly suitable for the storage of large or heavy items such as textiles, costumes, glass plate negatives, geological samples or a variety of museum objects.
Simple boxes do not require expensive tooling which makes them the most cost effective type of box for small quantity specialist needs.

Large quantity runs of Wire Stitched Boxes can be combined with die cut blanks to produce fine tuned well shaped boxes. We are also able to design and supply special heavy duty corrugated or fibre board boxes suitable for archive, library and Museum applications such as temporary transit of books or collections.

CXD Die Cut Box Designs are manufactured by Conservation By Design Limited at Timecare Works, Bedford. Cutting and creasing forms are designed by experienced staff on state of the art computers linked to a special cutting and creasing machine, which rapidly translates the computer design into accurate samples of a new design to test the box construction before production. Short runs of individually sized boxes can also be undertakenusing this parametric computer system. Prices on application

SMART BOXES™ can be produced from any of our standard designs. The use of this computer technology means that we can now offer any of our more complex designs in small quantities. Please see separate in depth literature.

Why CXD Premier Die Cut Boxes are Better than other Die Cut Boxes

Most of the board from which our boxes are made is laminated on our own machinery, immediately prior to a box making. Die cutting when the board is still damp from laminating means that the board does not crack. Other boxes, where the board is laminated and stored prior to being die cut are prone to cracking.

CXD Premier Die Cut Boxes are thicker, stronger and do not crack on the fold.

CXD soon expect to be able to offer all the Premier Grade Boxes and Envelope Designs with a specially laminated MicroChamber® inner layer. This can be specified when ordering.

Made To Measure Envelopes And Folders

In addition to our standard envelopes and folders we offer a custom made design and production service. Our laminating and production facilities enable Conservation By Design Limited to provide a unique combination of archival papers and boards from which we can produce envelopes and folders in a variety of styles. We can assist in design and welcome the
opportunity to quote on any special requirements.

Our standard reel stock Archival Kraft papers which are available for conversion are listed below or in any combination with a maximum of 4 layers.

• 120 g/m² = 150 micron White Archival Kraft
• 260 g/m² = 325 micron White Archival Kraft
• 350 g/m² = 500 micron White Archival Kraft

The above can be laminated to create single colour material or duplex papers and boards.
